Kitchen & Court

Editorial Policy

The standards we hold every page to — independence, honesty about what we are, and a correction when we're wrong.

These are the rules Kitchen & Court holds itself to. They exist so you can trust that a recommendation here is about serving you, not a brand or our bottom line.

Independence

We are editorially independent of the brands we cover. We never accept payment for a placement, a ranking, or a favorable review, and no brand gets to approve or preview what we write about it. We participate in affiliate programs (see our disclosure), but affiliate commission never influences which products we recommend or how we rank them — where a cheaper product is the better buy, it wins.

How we pick and rank

Products are chosen and ranked on buyer fit for the joint-constrained player— weight, grip and comfort for paddles; cushioning and stability for shoes; the right level of support for braces — using published specs and honest reasoning, as laid out on our how we researchpage. Every commercial page includes a “skip this if” for each product, because an honest recommendation has to include who shouldn’t buy it.

The no-fabrication rule

This is our firmest standard, and we’d rather have a thinner page than break it:

  • No fake reviews or testimonials. We do not invent customer reviews, quotes, star ratings or before-and-afters. Ever.
  • No fabricated testing. We don’t claim to have lab-tested products we haven’t. We compile published specs and say so.
  • No invented specs or prices. When a maker doesn’t publish a figure, we print “Not published.” Prices come only from a live, dated check.
  • No fake credentials. Our writer is an enthusiast, not a doctor, therapist or coach, and we never imply otherwise.

Sourcing and health claims

Every factual health, injury or activity claim is cited to a real, named source — NIH research, the CDC, the Arthritis Foundation, USA Pickleball. Our health and condition guides carry a clear note that they are general information, not medical advice, and encourage you to talk to your own doctor. We are a gear-and-guidance site, not a medical resource, and we don’t pretend to be one.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we fix them. If you spot a factual error, a misread spec, or an out-of-date price, tell us. We’ll check it against the source, correct it if you’re right, and note the change. We treat a correction as a credibility win, not an embarrassment.

Updates and freshness

Every commercial page shows a “last updated” date. We review product lists at least quarterly for new and discontinued models, refresh them yearly, and re-check health and statistical claims every 6–12 months against current research.
